Become part of our surveyor team.

We are seeking an ambitious naval architect to join our team. We are looking for someone who is well acquainted with the maritime industry and motivated to support our exciting and sometimes complex projects and assignments for our clients.

Our scope of work includes:

  • Condition surveys of sea and inland vessels and inspections of insurance damage to ships
  • Preparation of corresponding reports in English or German
  • Technical inspection of sea and inland vessels according to technical regulations
  • Stability calculations for all types of inland vessels and pontoons
  • Consultation on the conversion of inland vessels according to technical regulations
  • Inspection of harbour craft according to the Hamburg Harbour Craft Regulation
  • Review of ship structural strength calculations for plausibility
  • Acceptance of towed convoys in Germany and other European countries
  • Inspection of cargo securing for steel components, shipbuilding sections, and equipment on seagoing pontoons
  • Additional consulting engineering services
  • Support of the inspection team in developing the wind offshore business sector

Qualifications we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture/Maritime Technology
  • Professional experience as a naval architect – practical experience with ships
  • Good to excellent language and writing skills in German and English, additional language skills are advantageous
  • Diligent and independent work style
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and preferably familiar with 3D surface modeling programs and stability calculation programs
  • Previous experience in construction and/or ship stability is desirable
  • Confident demeanor and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to travel irregularly and at short notice for short assignments (1-4 days) in Germany and other European countries
  • Driving licence class B valid in Germany or in the EU
